WHO ARE WE?
We are a
non-profit organization aimed in promoting a sense of fellowship among Dasmariņas
townmates. Membership is open to all our "kababayans" and all their
families; children, grandchildren or descendants of residents of Dasmariņas, Cavite regardless of birthplace and their
families.
We have
different activities scheduled yearly. An annual
"Tagpu-tagpo" is held every summer, we celebrate our town Fiesta on or
before December 8, to honor the feast of our patron saint, "LA IMMACULADA
CONCEPCION", and we also sponsor "Dinner/Dances" to raise funds for future
projects.
In the early
70's, a small group of our "kababayans" came up with the idea of organizing a
summer gathering to reunite families from Dasmariņas living in San Diego, Los Angeles
& San Francisco areas. The first "Tagpu-tagpo" was very successful and
was attended by many of our town mates. Due to it's popularity, the reunion became a
yearly event and was held alternately in San Diego, Los Angeles & the Bay
Area. However, due to the travel distance from the Bay Area to Southern
California, it was decided that a Northern California group was needed. In the early
1990's, with blessings from the other group, the Northern California chapter was
founded. And this is how we got started.
